Merchant – Clothing (Ready-to-Wear & Apparel)

About the role

SKIMS is seeking a Merchant – Clothing to lead category strategy and assortment architecture for its ready‑to‑wear and apparel collections. Based in Los Angeles, the role will shape commercially successful assortments that balance innovation, trend relevance, core essentials and margin performance while aligning with the brand’s global growth vision.

Key responsibilities

• Develop seasonal line plans and product strategies that meet revenue, margin and long‑term business objectives.
• Influence product decisions from concept through launch and post‑launch optimization.
• Build category assortments tailored to target consumer segments and channel requirements.
• Analyze weekly and monthly sales performance, identify risks and growth opportunities, and conduct hindsight analysis for future assortment decisions.
• Monitor inventory, rate of sale and stock on order to determine buy depth and reorders.
• Partner with Design, Planning, Production, Marketing and Ecommerce to ensure successful product launches.
• Present category insights and performance in monthly and quarterly business reviews.
• Collaborate with Ecommerce to optimize online merchandising and in‑stock performance.
• Track competitive landscape, pricing strategies and consumer trends within apparel categories.
• Maintain product data accuracy across systems and drive process improvements.
• Support and mentor assistant‑level team members.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of merchandising or product experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen.
• Proven ability to build consumer‑focused assortments.
• Experience working across wholesale and direct‑to‑consumer channels.
• Excellent presentation and cross‑functional communication skills.
