Mentor Coordinator – DREAM Program (Boston)

About the role

This Mentor Coordinator position is open exclusively to current Chairs of the DREAM Program in Boston. You will support Youth Service Managers by training, recruiting, and guiding volunteer mentors from college campuses, and help drive the Village Mentoring program that offers holistic support to mentees.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure volunteer mentors understand the Village Mentoring model, their roles, and responsibilities.
• Collaborate with the Youth Services Manager to assess mentee needs and foster partnerships between mentors, support staff, and the community.
• Provide mentors with resources and training to deliver high‑quality mentoring experiences.
• Build and maintain relationships with every volunteer mentor and mentee in the supported chapter.
• Strategically plan chapter growth, maintain a 1:1 mentor‑to‑mentee ratio, oversee recruitment, mentor graduation transitions, compliance documentation, and background checks.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident (AmeriCorps requirement).
• At least 17 years old at start of service (or 16 if an out‑of‑school youth).
• Current Chair of a DREAM Boston chapter.
• Willingness to undergo required criminal history checks.
• Commitment to the full service term and to DREAM’s mission of reducing the Opportunity Gap.
• Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, with experience serving diverse or BIPOC communities.
• Strong time‑management skills and ability to meet in person regularly.
• Reliable phone and access to transportation.
