Assistant/Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture

Harvard Graduate School of Design seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant or Associate Professor to strengthen its Landscape Architecture department. The position emphasizes design across multiple scales and contexts, contributing to research, pedagogy, and practice.

Key responsibilities

• Teach required studio courses for the professional MLA program and help shape core studio curriculum.
• Engage with students through thesis advising, guest critiques, and project reviews across the school.
• Conduct cross‑disciplinary research and design work addressing climate change, urbanization, and equitable environmental resource distribution.

Required profile

• Recognized record of distinguished accomplishment in landscape architecture academia or professional practice.
• Graduate degree in landscape architecture (or related design field); doctoral degree desirable but not required.
• Ability to contribute to inclusive pedagogy and mentorship for a diverse student body.

Required skills

• Expertise in design at several scales and contexts.
• Knowledge in one or more areas such as material culture, climate, design innovation, geography, urbanization, or environment.
