Mental Health Counselor

About the role

Day One Integrative Services is hiring a Mental Health Counselor in Marion, reporting to the Clinical Manager. The counselor conducts assessments, develops case plans and runs individual, group and family sessions under supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments and determine treatment needs
• Facilitate individual, group and/or family sessions under supervision
• Work with clients to develop individualized case plans and write clear, timely case notes
• Monitor and document client progress, and communicate client information to appropriate staff
• Participate in weekly Treatment Team Meetings and suggest improvements to programming
• Act as a liaison with insurance companies when requested and represent Day One in court when necessary
• Coordinate with all other departments, attend yearly training and perform other duties assigned by management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in social or health services from an accredited institution, in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling
• Licensure or provisional licensure eligible (LSW, LISW, LISW-S, LPC, LPCC, LPCC-S)
• Working knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
• Valid driver's license
