Mental Health Associate

About the role

Rivermont Schools seeks a compassionate Mental Health Associate to support students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges across elementary to high school levels. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to create a consistent, supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist students with academics, social skills, and daily living needs, adapting support for all age groups.
• Observe and document student behavior, sharing updates with the team to refine intervention strategies.
• Support self‑help skills such as toileting, feeding, and hygiene to promote independence.
• Apply de‑escalation techniques and calming strategies to maintain a structured environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, BCBAs, and parents to deliver individualized support.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable, punctual, and adaptable team player.
• Patient, calm, and resilient when supporting escalated students.
• Passion for helping students with learning or behavioral differences.

Required skills

• Basic computer proficiency (Outlook, Word).
• Strong communication, reading, writing, and documentation abilities.
