Medical Technologist (Evening Shift)

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic’s Martin South Hospital, a 100‑bed facility delivering advanced research, surgery and world‑class patient care. As a Medical Technologist you will perform and interpret laboratory tests of all complexity levels, supporting physicians and nurses in delivering optimal patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quality laboratory testing and ensure timely, accurate result reporting in compliance with AHCA, CLIA, COLA and JCAHO standards.
• Identify and handle patient specimens, maintain specimen integrity, and resolve specimens that do not meet testing criteria.
• Report critical information such as panic values, instrument malfunctions or reagent depletion to physicians and supervisors.
• Perform instrument start‑up, shutdown, maintenance checks and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area, manage inventory and ensure proper use of reagents and controls.
• Provide technical support to physicians, phlebotomists and nursing staff via telephone and in‑person consultations.

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree in Chemical, Physical or Biological Sciences, Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Florida state license at the technologist level with specialization in Microbiology, Immunohematology or both.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree, ASCP certification and at least one year of clinical laboratory experience.
