Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)

About the role

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) provides essential medical support to ensure safe and efficient plasma donation operations. Reporting to the Plasma Center Manager and working under the Center Physician, you will help determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, and uphold regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, and blood testing.
• Review laboratory results such as Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) and notify donors of unsuitable findings.
• Evaluate and manage donor reactions according to SOPs and coordinate emergency response when needed.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents, refer to occupational health or emergency services, and follow EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, assisting with investigations related to pandemic threats.

Required profile

• Familiarity with plasma collection industry regulations or a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work under guidance of Center Manager and Center Physician.
• Strong knowledge of medical SOPs and emergency procedures.
• Capability to communicate medical findings clearly to donors and staff.
