Job description
About the role
iQVIA is looking for experienced Medical Science Liaisons to support a late-stage clinical development program in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). The MSL acts as a field-based scientific resource, engaging investigators, hematologists and oncologists to share clinical and translational data and gather insights on disease biology, measurable residual disease, relapse risk and evolving standards of care. The role strengthens the organization's understanding of the scientific and clinical landscape and supports Medical Affairs and clinical development.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain scientific relationships with KOLs, academic investigators and community hematology/oncology leaders, and hold compliant, peer-to-peer scientific discussions on AML, immunotherapy, biomarkers, MRD and relapse risk.
- Communicate complex clinical and scientific information to physicians, researchers, advanced practice providers, pharmacists and nurses, and support disease-state education, advisory boards and investigator meetings.
- Capture field insights on unmet needs, practice patterns, barriers and adoption, and turn them into themes and recommendations for Medical Affairs, clinical development and launch readiness.
- Monitor the competitive landscape, clinical trial activity and guideline evolution, and act as the voice of external oncology stakeholders internally.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with clinical trial investigators, cooperative groups and research centers, and support ongoing clinical development programs.
- Partner with Medical Affairs to execute the field medical plan, document interactions in the CRM, and uphold scientific integrity and compliance.
Required profile
- Advanced clinical or scientific degree; PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, DNP, NP, PA or equivalent strongly preferred from an accredited institution.
- At least 4 years of MSL experience or relevant clinical experience (including clinical development scientist in pharma/biotech) in hematology and/or oncology, with at least 3 years in hematology/oncology.
- Demonstrated track record in medical affairs, clinical development, clinical practice or scientific engagement.
- Strong understanding of oncology stakeholder segments, treatment landscapes and market dynamics.
- Ability to communicate complex science to diverse audiences, work independently and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
- Valid driver's license, extensive travel within the territory, and willingness to travel up to 70% of the time; site access requirements may apply.
Required skills
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.
- Familiarity with clinical trial planning, FDA regulations, OIG guidelines and treatment guidelines.
- Preferred: experience with AML, MDS, bone marrow transplant, cellular therapy or cancer immunotherapy, prior product launch experience, and networks with academic and community centers.
The potential base pay range is $170,000-$210,000 annually, depending on qualifications, location and schedule; incentives, bonuses and benefits may also apply.
