Medical Records Technician (Los Angeles, CA)

About the role

Advantmed is hiring Medical Records Technicians in Los Angeles, California. The role involves travelling to medical facilities and hospitals to scan patient medical records, using company-provided laptops and portable scanners. It is a part-time, seasonal position with possible extension depending on project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a record system for patient information and gather documents.
• Use electronic systems to collect, organise and manage data, keeping records accurate and complete.
• Create digital copies of paperwork and store records electronically.
• File paperwork and reports quickly and accurately.
• Ensure HIPAA standards are met and follow confidentiality guidelines.
• Interact with medical staff, healthcare providers and other medical personnel.

Required profile

• Valid driver's licence and clean motor vehicle record.
• Own car with active insurance in your name (registration documentation provided).
• Willing to drive up to 60-80 miles round-trip.
• Available 08:00 am to 05:00 pm in the local time zone to visit facilities.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Required skills

• Basic PC and office equipment skills.
• Good-to-have: EHR/EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech.
• Good-to-have: familiarity with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good-to-have: printer and scanner operation and troubleshooting.

What we offer

• Pay of $18-$22 per hour or $3 per record, whichever is higher, paid semi-monthly.
• Paid mileage and reimbursement for some travel expenses.
• $50 daily food allowance when travelling out of state, plus flight, hotel and rental if required.
