Echo Sonographer II - 8-Hour Day Shift (Inpatient)

About the role

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles is hiring an Echo Sonographer II for an 8-hour day shift in the inpatient setting. The role sits within Echocardiology, where the Smidt Heart Institute provides cardiovascular care across 16 centers and programs, working alongside physicians in specialties such as transplantation, stem cell therapy, congenital heart disease, valve disorders and arrhythmia.

Key responsibilities

• Perform echocardiogram (Echocardiogram) and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) exams in the inpatient setting, throughout the Medical Center, procedural areas, recovery rooms and the Emergency Department.
• Use color, spectral Doppler and 2-D imaging.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all procedures and competency with the related ultrasound equipment and computers.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, and graduation from an accredited ultrasound school.
• Current ARDMS/CCI certification; applicants without certification may be considered as an Echo Sonographer I if they can obtain RDCS or RCS within one year.
• Minimum of 3 years of full-time sonographer experience; those with less may be considered as an Echo Sonographer I.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Desired traits: compassionate, personable, technologically savvy, good listener, deadline-oriented and versatile.

Required skills

• Echocardiography and TTE with color, spectral Doppler and 2-D imaging.
• Ultrasound equipment operation.

What we offer

• Base pay of $49.11 to $78.58 depending on location.
• Full-time regular day-shift position.
