Medical Director, Psychiatrist (Home-Based)

About the role

IQVIA is hiring a Medical Director, Psychiatrist, working remotely from the U.S. The role primarily acts as a global and regional Medical Advisor, serving as backup Medical Advisor on assigned projects, and supports investigative sites and project staff on protocol-related issues such as protocol clarifications, inclusion/exclusion determinations and patient safety and eligibility.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical support to investigative sites and project staff on protocol issues, including protocol clarifications, inclusion/exclusion determinations and patient safety and eligibility.
• Contribute to the medical review of protocols, Investigative Drug Brochures (IDBs) and/or Case Report Forms (CRFs).
• Provide therapeutic area/indication training for the project clinical team.
• Attend and possibly present at Investigator Meetings.
• Review and clarify trial-related adverse events (AEs).
• Review Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) with the Pharmacovigilance department, and support the Analysis of Similar Events (AOSE).
• Perform medical review of adverse event coding and review Clinical Study Reports (CSRs) and patient narratives.
• Attend kick-off meetings, weekly team meetings and client meetings as needed.

Required profile

• Medical degree from an accredited, internationally recognized medical school (mandatory).
• Board certification in Psychiatry (mandatory).
• 5-7 years of experience supporting clinical trials as Investigator, Sub-Investigator or in a related role in pharma or CRO.
• Current knowledge of the medical, scientific and clinical landscape in the applicable therapeutic area.
• Valid current medical license or equivalent from the country or region where the person lives and works.

• Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills in Spanish and English.
• Attention to detail, flexibility and ability to advise on multiple assignments.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.

The potential base pay range, when annualized, is $115,900 to $322,900, depending on qualifications, location and schedule. Incentive plans, bonuses and other benefits may also apply.
