Medical Biller – Full‑time

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Central Business Office is seeking a full‑time Medical Biller to support billing operations in Miami, FL. The role ensures accurate compilation of charges, maintains invoicing records, and assists patients and insurers with billing inquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Compile amounts owed to the medical facility and maintain order, invoice, and payment records.
• Assist patients, insurance companies, and laboratories with billing questions.
• Review patient and insurance information, diagnosis codes, and managed‑care authorizations; correct records as needed.
• Print daily appointment voucher reports and reconcile vouchers.
• Enter, review, and retrieve patient account information, ensuring accuracy.
• Submit completed billing batches daily and monitor claim payment status.
• Transmit coded treatment information to payers and coordinate reimbursements with care providers.
• Review and release physician charges, run insurance eligibility checks, and fix registration issues.
• Manually enter paper vouchers, resolve erroneous or rejected charges, distribute credits, and assign charges to cases.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant medical billing experience.
• General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
• Strong data‑entry accuracy with minimal errors.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments with attention to detail.
• Relevant education, certifications, or additional experience may be considered.
