Medical Assistant – Primary Care (PRN)

About the role

This position provides individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed health care provider. The role supports both patients and providers throughout each visit, ensuring smooth and compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

• Support the patient and provider throughout the visit, preparing rooms and answering patient questions.
• Communicate with patients by phone and in person to meet their needs promptly.
• Document pertinent medical information in the company’s data systems.
• Maintain clinical knowledge and credentials through ongoing professional development.
• Adhere to Department of Transportation workplace drug and alcohol testing programs when applicable.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (required); completion of a formal medical assistant training program (preferred).
• Experience handling confidential information in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Clinical knowledge relevant to primary care.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication for interacting with patients and staff.
