Medical Assistant – OBGYN

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the OBGYN team at Westlake Medical Office Building. You will support comprehensive women’s health services, including prenatal care, preventive screenings, and general gynecology, while collaborating with specialists in infertility, high‑risk obstetrics, and gynecologic cancer.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with screenings and treatments by gathering and updating health information, medication changes, and allergy data.
• Collect specimens, perform tests, and document patient care.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.
• Perform administrative duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved medical assisting program or military training as a hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician.
• Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain during new‑hire period).

Required skills

• Medical assisting certification (preferred).
• Clinical specimen collection and testing.
• Data entry and patient registration systems.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
