About the role

The Department of Orthopedics at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Medical Assistant II to provide direct patient care and support medical providers in a busy outpatient setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other providers with clinical procedures and patient examinations.
• Deliver hands‑on patient care while adhering to regulatory requirements, institutional policies, and evidence‑based standards.
• Monitor and document quality of care, recognize and respond to emergencies, and maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Collaborate closely with the nurse manager, charge nurse, and unit designee to ensure coordinated delivery of services.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members, prioritizing multiple requests and tasks efficiently.
• Participate in unit meetings, training sessions, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
