About the role

The Department of Sports Medicine at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Medical Assistant 2 to join its clinic in Plantation, FL. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed physician, the MA2 will support providers in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses with clinical procedures and patient examinations.
• Perform multi‑skilled tasks such as obtaining vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and handling medical equipment.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Provide compassionate care, address patient concerns, and support cultural and spiritual needs.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies, following established protocols.
• Collaborate with the Nurse Manager, charge nurse, and other team members to maintain a safe and efficient clinic environment.
