About the role
The Syvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami is seeking a Medical Assistant 1 to provide direct patient care and support clinical procedures. Working under the supervision of a licensed physician, the MA will contribute to high‑quality, culturally competent healthcare delivery in a fast‑paced oncology setting.
Key responsibilities
- Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations, procedures, and documentation.
- Collect and record vital signs, medical histories, and laboratory specimens.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team, providing emotional support and education.
- Respond to emergencies and follow institutional policies for patient safety.
