Med Tech (Certified) - Part-Time

About the role

Monarch/Brandywine Senior Living is hiring a part-time Certified Medication Technician in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. The position is non-exempt and hourly, reporting to the Director of Health & Wellness, with shifts 7-11am and 3pm-8pm. The Med Tech provides quality care to residents and their families and assists with medication administration according to each resident's care plan and physician's orders.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and/or assist residents with self-administration of prescribed medications and maintain related medical records under the supervision of the RN and/or LPN
• Complete required annual medication training
• Provide resident care so that care needs are met according to the resident's care plan
• Maintain accurate medical records and written documentation in line with federal and state regulations, certification standards and legal and ethical standards
• Maintain the comfort, privacy and dignity of residents
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical condition, cognition and emotional status to the supervisor

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least six months of experience working with seniors in personal care, home health, hospital or long-term care
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Able to lift or carry up to 50 lbs and use proper body mechanics when lifting residents

Required skills

• Successful completion of Medication Technician training and periodic competency testing
• Ability to perform medication administration in accordance with state regulations
• Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA policies
• Strong communication skills
