Mechanical Engineer – Solenoid Valves & Fluid Control

About the role

Join Spartan Scientific, a division of Canfield Industries, to design and develop solenoid valves, electro‑pneumatic systems, and other fluid‑control products for industrial applications. You will take projects from concept through testing to production, collaborating closely with manufacturing, suppliers, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design parts, assemblies and detailed drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
• Improve product performance, reliability and manufacturability.
• Support prototyping, testing and validation activities (pressure, flow, durability).
• Partner with manufacturing on DFM/DFA and resolve production issues.
• Troubleshoot design and field‑related challenges.
• Collaborate with electrical and cross‑functional teams to integrate mechanical and electronic solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5+ years of mechanical design or manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processes.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD).
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Pressure, flow and durability testing.
• Experience with valves, pneumatics or fluid‑power systems.
• Basic FEA or simulation tools (nice to have).
• Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems (nice to have).
