Mechanical Engineer – Power Generation

About the role

PacifiCorp is looking for a customer‑centric Mechanical Engineer to provide daily boiler, performance, and general mechanical support for its power generation assets in Glenrock, WY. The role involves both capital and operations‑and‑maintenance (O&M) projects, ensuring plant reliability and compliance with industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the day‑to‑day mechanical engineer and project manager for capital and O&M funded projects.
• Analyze system designs, program modifications, and troubleshoot operational challenges.
• Conduct equipment performance tests, install and inspect new equipment, and perform site inspections.
• Act as the plant’s Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) and support environmental systems such as scrubbers and precipitators.
• Manage capital budgets and deliver engineering studies, plans, specifications, and performance assessments.
• For senior levels, lead complex engineering studies, mentor junior staff, and maintain project timelines and budgets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in power plant operations, boiler systems, or similar industrial environments.
• Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) credential preferred.
• Ability to manage small to large capital and O&M projects from inception to completion.
