Mechanical Engineer – Lifting Solutions

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team near Hobby Airport. The role focuses on designing and delivering below‑the‑hook lifting solutions while working closely with the owner on product development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide lifting solutions for customer inquiries and design prototypes.
• Source materials, generate purchase orders, and produce cost estimations.
• Perform stress analysis (bending, compressive, shear, tension, combined) for various applications.
• Create detailed production drawings, bill of materials, cut lists, weld call‑outs, and build plans for the fabrication shop.
• Coordinate with the shop lead to schedule work and meet deadlines.
• Inspect material and product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Collaborate hands‑on with the owner, sales team, and engineers from concept to delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Strong mathematical abilities, especially in advanced geometry and stress analysis.
• Ability to solve complex engineering problems and continuously expand industry knowledge.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using MathCAD.
