Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Maverick Power, you will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to create low‑ and medium‑voltage power distribution and control systems. You will be responsible for developing mechanical designs, 3D models, drawings, and bills of materials that meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, and enclosures for switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, and control panels.
• Create and maintain 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and assembly documentation using SOLIDWORKS.
• Generate and update bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
• Review customer drawings, specifications, one‑line diagrams, and layout drawings to support project design requirements.
• Apply design‑for‑manufacturing (DFM) principles to improve manufacturability and reduce complexity.
• Support engineering changes and product modifications for project‑specific needs.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, production personnel, quality, testing, and field service teams to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
• Ensure designs comply with UL, ANSI, IEEE, NEC, and customer standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET‑accredited program.
• 2–3 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2–3 years of experience using SOLIDWORKS or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Experience creating mechanical drawings, assemblies, and BOMs.
