Mechanical Design Engineer – Custom Machinery (SolidWorks)

About the role

This position is with a specialized engineering and manufacturing firm that creates custom automated machinery for North America. Engineers own the full lifecycle of each machine, from concept through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design custom machinery and automated equipment using SolidWorks.
• Develop detailed bills of materials and mechanical assemblies.
• Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams during builds.
• Support in‑house testing and machine run‑offs.
• Interface with internal teams and customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree or relevant technical background.
• Strong SolidWorks experience.
• Experience with machinery, automation, or capital equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems such as power transmission, pneumatics, and motion systems.
• Hands‑on mindset with strong problem‑solving ability.
