Mechanic I

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanic I to support our maintenance team in performing routine repairs and upkeep on a fleet of vehicles, including school and passenger buses. The role provides hands‑on experience under supervision while ensuring safety and reliability of all transportation assets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior mechanics with routine inspections, diagnostics, and minor repairs on buses and other vehicles.
• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotations.
• Document work performed and report any issues to the lead mechanic.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment and adhere to safety protocols.

Required profile

• Valid Texas commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Ability to pass U.S. DOT alcohol and drug tests and an annual physical examination.
• Experience or demonstrated ability in minor vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Capability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
