About the role
The Buffalo Board of Education seeks a qualified Math Coach and Support Math Teacher to work half‑time across Receivership Schools 31, 37, 43, and 97 for the 2026‑2027 school year. This role blends instructional coaching with classroom support, helping teachers implement the district’s mathematics program and the Next Generation Learning Standards.
Key responsibilities
- Guide teachers and administrators in implementing district mathematics curricula.
- Assist educators in unpacking and applying the Next Generation Learning Standards.
- Model lesson planning and co‑teaching strategies, including small‑group and RtI/AIS instruction.
- Collaborate on best practices, instructional technology integration, and assessment tool usage.
- Design and deliver professional development on math curriculum and instruction.
- Support data‑driven decision‑making by reviewing student diagnostics, progress data, and outcome assessments.
- Develop and monitor action plans for students performing below grade level.
Required profile
- Minimum five years of approved teaching experience.
- New York State certification in Mathematics or Elementary Education with at least 9 credit hours of mathematics content or a math extension.
- Strong knowledge of the Next Generation Learning Standards.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to provide adult professional development and classroom support.
