Maternal OB Clinical Nursing Instructor

About the role

Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks a part‑time Clinical Nursing Instructor to mentor BSN students in an inpatient maternal‑OB setting in Des Moines, Iowa. The instructor will bridge classroom learning with real‑world patient care, ensuring students are prepared and confident.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise clinical experiences for 8‑week sessions, typically 3‑4 consecutive 12‑hour shifts.
• Implement curriculum, evaluate student performance, and provide timely feedback on assignments, quizzes, and clinical paperwork.
• Maintain coordination with clinical site staff, stay visible to students, and ensure compliance with site policies.
• Contribute to program development, assessment, and college initiatives, and may assist with simulation or didactic teaching under supervision.

Required profile

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Unencumbered RN license in Iowa (Illinois license required for some courses).
• Active BLS certification.
• At least two years of recent professional nursing experience.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in maternal‑OB nursing.
