Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer

About the role

Advantia Health’s Maternal Fetal Medicine department is seeking a full‑time Sonographer for its Beltsville office. The ideal candidate will provide high‑quality ultrasound imaging, support physicians during procedures, and ensure accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Create preliminary reports for physician review and sign‑off.
• Assist physicians with amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and other procedures.
• Code services appropriately and maintain ultrasound equipment, addressing any malfunctions promptly.
• Maintain inventory of ultrasound supplies and ensure proper room sanitation.
• Follow accredited protocols for 2‑D, color flow, Doppler, and M‑mode imaging.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED plus relevant experience, or graduate of an accredited sonography program.
• ARDMS OB/GYN certification (or eligibility) and CPR certification.
• At least two years of allied‑health education and one year of on‑the‑job ultrasound training, or completion of an approved program.
• Commitment to continuing education to maintain certification.

• Operation of ultrasound equipment and image acquisition.
• Fetal echo imaging and interpretation.
• OB/GYN ultrasonography techniques.
• Medical coding for ultrasound services.
