Full‑Time Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer

About the role

Advantia Health’s Maternal Fetal Medicine Department is seeking a full‑time Sonographer to work in our Beltsville office. The successful candidate will provide high‑quality ultrasound imaging, support physicians during procedures, and ensure accurate reporting and coding.

Key responsibilities

• Create preliminary reports for physician review and sign‑off.
• Assist physicians with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
• Code services appropriately and maintain accurate documentation.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, recognizing and correcting malfunctions.
• Maintain inventory of ultrasound supplies and ensure examination rooms are properly stocked.
• Follow accredited laboratory protocols for 2‑D, color flow, Doppler, and M‑mode imaging.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent.
• ARDMS OB/GYN certification or eligibility within 12 months of hire.
• CPR certification.
• At least two years of related experience or completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program.
• Evidence of continuing education credits to meet accreditation requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ultrasound imaging equipment.
• OB/GYN ultrasonography techniques.
• Fetal echocardiography (experience preferred or provided).
• Medical coding for ultrasound services.
• ARDMS certification (or eligibility).
