Material/Process Inspector I – Tyler District

About the role

The Material/Process Inspector I supports the Tyler District Headquarters by performing material tests and manufacturing process inspections in laboratories, plants, and at supply points. The role involves coordinating results with engineers and suppliers, maintaining equipment, and traveling to various sites to ensure program status.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate test and inspection results with engineers, inspectors, material producers and suppliers.
• Maintain equipment mileage, service records, and schedule repairs.
• Keep a detailed diary of inspection and test activities.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment.
• Perform tests, record data on worksheets, and convert raw data into required units.
• Prepare, log, and secure samples of raw or manufactured materials for testing.
• Travel to laboratories, manufacturing plants, warehouses, and project sites to monitor program status.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; full‑time or prorated part‑time experience acceptable.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to operate a state vehicle.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment physical and drug test.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications within 12 months of hire.
