Manufacturing Supervisor – Rotating Days/Afternoon Shift

About the role

The Manufacturing Supervisor will lead a production team at 3M's Cottage Grove facility on a rotating days/afternoon shift. You will ensure safe, efficient operations while fostering a culture of cross‑training, innovation, and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Guide personnel to safely handle and dispose of hazardous waste in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Schedule work priorities, coordinate maintenance, allocate assignments, and monitor workflow according to engineering directives.
• Coach employees, provide feedback, and apply corrective actions to resolve conflicts and inappropriate behavior.
• Train staff on all Cottage Grove processes, tools, equipment, and any operational changes.
• Maintain a safe work environment by reviewing production processes, OSHA requirements, and addressing safety‑related issues.
• Conduct housekeeping audits, job safety analyses, and ensure certification and training compliance.
• Resolve process, equipment, and technical problems, monitor downtime, and keep equipment within safe operating limits.
• Analyze statistical data to identify trends and develop improvement plans.
• Handle shift administrative tasks such as time reporting, attendance, vacation planning, and overtime documentation.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Effective communication skills for crew meetings, email updates, and one‑on‑one coaching.
• Experience interpreting OSHA regulations and implementing safety procedures.
