Manufacturing Supervisor – Automation Systems

About the role

ABB is hiring an Automation Production Supervisor in Senatobia, MS, who reports to the Integrated Product Unit Manager. The supervisor leads a team within a production unit or line, turning parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective way. The role oversees highly automated assembly production lines so that schedules match demand forecasts and service commitments, while optimizing automated systems and driving continuous improvement. It contributes to the Electrification Smart Power business in Senatobia, MS.

Key responsibilities

• Run automated line operations and scheduling: ensure production plans meet volume and inventory service levels, monitor throughput and cycle times, and optimize sequencing and changeovers
• Manage equipment and automation systems: recommend upgrades and improvements, monitor robotic and conveyor systems, and work with Engineering and Maintenance to keep equipment available
• Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and minimize line downtime
• Drive continuous improvement: identify gaps, propose Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma improvements, analyze automation data, and lead root cause analysis
• Handle critical issues: resolve equipment failures and interruptions, coordinate with cross-functional teams to restore line function, and troubleshoot automation problems

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience and education
• 3+ years as a Supervisor, Team Lead or equivalent in automated manufacturing operations
• Demonstrated expertise in high-volume automated assembly lines
• Experience reading and interpreting technical documentation and system specifications

Required skills

• Understanding of automation systems, PLC controls and integrated manufacturing equipment
• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma tools
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
