Manufacturing Engineer – X-Plant

About the role

Airbus is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the X‑Plant production line at its Mobile, Alabama facility. The role focuses on managing non‑conformities, design deviations and late changes, ensuring smooth flow from design to final assembly.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the focal point for plant activities, coordinating with suppliers, European plants and on‑site production teams.
• Provide technical support for X‑Plant manufacturing processes.
• Identify, document and validate non‑conformities, concessions and OSW in accordance with Airbus and authority rules.
• Generate work orders and drive corrective actions for design deviations and late changes.
• Organise regular meetings with suppliers and partners (Folio reviews, drumbeat, multi‑function team sessions).
• Participate in training programmes and mentor new colleagues.
• Support additional projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Background in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace or a high‑tech production environment.
• Strong understanding of non‑conformity management and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
• Ability to work on‑site in a fast‑paced production setting.
