Manufacturing Engineer, Process Development – Energy Products

About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development and deployment of advanced assembly and test processes for our new energy product lines. The role will start at our Megafactory 3 in Brookshire, TX, supporting pilot and launch activities before transitioning to the Gigafactory in Austin, TX.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop cutting‑edge manufacturing processes that improve quality, reduce cost and increase efficiency for high‑volume production.
• Deploy processes and equipment to production lines, including tool qualification, documentation and training.
• Ramp processes to meet targets for cycle time, availability, yield, quality and reliability while driving continuous improvement.
• Apply joining methods such as fastening, welding, brazing, soldering and adhesive bonding, and perform quality checks using vision inspection, leak and electrical testing.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, using data‑driven problem‑solving techniques to resolve complex issues.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or similar role in automated high‑volume environments.
• Hands‑on experience with lean and Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, RCA, DOE, FMEA, PCA, SPC, Kaizen).
• Proficiency in data querying and visualization (MySQL, Python, R, JMP, Tableau).
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

Required skills

• Vision inspection, leak testing, electrical testing.
• DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis, Design of Experiments, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Process Capability Analysis, statistical process control, Kaizen.
