Manufacturing Engineer
Rendezvous Robotics · Golden
Job description
About the role
Rendezvous Robotics builds electromagnetic self-assembling tiles that let spacecraft dock and latch together, enabling larger spacecraft than can fit inside a rocket. It is a small team in Golden, Colorado, working across hardware, software and systems engineering, and is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to run production and support the build floor.
Key responsibilities
- Generate and maintain work instructions for mechanical and electrical assemblies, integrating them into the MES so the floor has clear, current, traceable steps.
- Own production operations day to day, remove blockers and keep workflow uninterrupted.
- Create spacecraft and tile assembly kits for rapid, repeatable production.
- Generate non-conformance reports (NCRs), support investigations through resolution and own the execution of dispositions.
- Generate calibration processes and maintain certification of mechanical and electrical ground support equipment (GSE).
- Design and build ground support equipment to streamline production.
- Support the technician team on the build floor and drive process improvements and corrective actions that raise efficiency and yield.
- Share manufacturing expertise with design engineering, contributing to drawings, SOPs and design-for-manufacturability decisions.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field.
- For senior level: 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with hardware and fabrication methods.
- Experience with PLM and/or MES tools and configuration and data management controls.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with technicians and design engineers.
- U.S. person status required (U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee or asylee, or eligible for the required authorizations).
Preferred qualifications
- Experience building space hardware such as structures, harnessing, PCBAs or fluid systems.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or equivalent aerospace quality processes and standards.
- Experience setting up production processes, tooling or a build floor from scratch in a startup or small-team environment.
- Experience authoring NCR and corrective-action workflows and dispositioning nonconforming hardware.
What we offer
- Salary of $85,000-$110,000 for Engineers and $110,000-$135,000 for Senior Engineers, depending on level, knowledge, education and experience.
- Possible long-term incentives in the form of stock options.
- Medical, vision and dental coverage, short- and long-term disability, life insurance and paid parental leave.
- Up to 3 weeks of paid vacation and 10 or more paid holidays per year.
