Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Charge Robotics is building robots that construct solar farms. As the first member of the manufacturing function, you will lead the transition of our robotic systems from prototype to full‑scale production, directly contributing to gigawatts of clean electricity deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the build and scaling of state‑of‑the‑art robotic systems that assemble solar farms in the field.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost‑effective, and easy to assemble.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, drawings, and bills of materials.
• Support part qualification, incoming inspection, and supplier quality initiatives.

Required profile

• 4–8 years of experience bringing complex electromechanical products from prototype to production, including metal fabrication, rigging, and heavy machinery.
• Strong ability to read and create mechanical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with engineers, suppliers, technicians, and leadership.
• Based in or willing to relocate to the SF Bay Area and work onsite 4–5 days per week; up to ~10% travel to field sites.
