Manufacturing Engineer – CNC Machining

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer is a key member of the Engineering department, responsible for the full lifecycle of CNC programming and process development on multi‑axis turning and milling machines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes, select tooling and raw materials, design fixtures, and create CNC programs in Fusion 360 or Hypermill for 2‑ to 5+‑axis machines.
• Write advanced CNC code including macro programming, Q‑variable programming, and in‑process probing.
• Prove‑out programs, reduce run time, and troubleshoot dimensional errors.
• Document setups in ProShop ERP with tooling lists, work‑holding instructions, and run notes.
• Train operators and mentor CNC programmers on processes, tooling, and best practices.
• Support process standardization, departmental improvement, and other engineering projects.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T callouts and translate them into machining strategies.
• Experience building CNC programs from scratch in a CAM platform and justifying toolpath choices.
• Proficiency in selecting tooling, setting speeds/feeds, and designing work‑holding for various part geometries and materials.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to trace and resolve root causes of dimensional issues.
• Comfort operating Haas and/or Heidenhain controllers and performing controller‑level troubleshooting.
