Manufacturing Engineer – Aircraft Parts Production

About the role

Moog’s Commercial Aircraft group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the West Falls, New York plant. The role focuses on creating detailed manufacturing instructions, CNC programs and tooling concepts to produce machined aircraft components while supporting the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Generate operation sheets and manufacturing procedures for assigned parts.
• Review engineering drawings, suggest revisions to improve producibility, and ensure compatibility with shop capabilities.
• Convert detailed N/C outlines into coded CNC program tapes and assist machinists with program prove‑out.
• Establish standard setup and run times, and develop tooling, gauging and fixture designs.
• Conduct studies to improve manufacturing efficiency, recommend equipment or process changes, and prepare cost estimates for new proposals.
• Monitor early production runs, adjust tooling or processes as needed, and create rework operation sheets for discrepant parts.

Required profile

• Experience in manufacturing engineering within an aerospace or precision machining environment.
• Proficiency in CNC programming and translating engineering data into machine instructions.
• Ability to design and review tooling, gauges, and fixtures.
• Strong analytical skills for time studies, cost estimating and process improvement.
