Managing Director, Central Florida Chapter

About the role

The Managing Director will lead the Blessings in a Backpack Central Florida Chapter, overseeing fundraising, board development, volunteer management, and program expansion. Reporting to the Southeast Regional Vice President, this role is based in a home office in Orlando.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute fundraising strategies, including major gifts, corporate giving, foundation relations, and events.
• Oversee the chapter budget, ensuring sufficient funds are raised to support mission goals.
• Recruit, manage, and activate advisory board members and represent the organization at community events.
• Collaborate with regional program teams to ensure smooth operations and program sustainability.
• Manage the part‑time Chapter Coordinator to achieve chapter objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of fund development or comparable revenue‑generation experience in Central Florida.
• Proven track record in major‑gift fundraising, board recruitment, and community outreach.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building skills and a passion for addressing childhood hunger.
• Willingness to travel locally, attend evening/weekend events, and occasional overnight trips.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Raiser's Edge fundraising software.
