Manager Trainee - Operational Strength Program

About the role

Avis Budget Group is recruiting a Manager Trainee for its Operational Strength Program (OSP), starting January 2027. This full-time, 12-month career-launching program prepares participants to become Operations Managers through hands-on training in operations, customer service, logistics and team leadership, alongside a peer cohort and mentorship from senior leaders. The program is based in Boston, Massachusetts.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through key operational functions and apply new skills in daily hands-on work
• Receive personalized mentorship and coaching from experienced leaders
• Build the skills to drive team performance and operational excellence in a fast-paced environment
• Work shifts, weekends and holidays, with regular on-site presence (the role is not remote)

Required profile

• 2- or 4-year college degree OR 4 years of military service
• Willingness and ability to relocate anywhere in the United States after the initial 8-week training
• Data-focused problem solver with strong analytical skills
• Team member or team leader experience (e.g., sports, clubs, military)
• Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the United States
• Strong leadership potential, resilience and emotional intelligence
• Extra points for at least one year of customer service experience
