Manager, State Government Affairs (Texas/Western US)

About the role

Keurig Dr Pepper is hiring a Manager, State Government Affairs based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with the office in Frisco. The role leads government affairs engagement strategy with a priority focus on the State of Texas and advocacy across other assigned states, supporting the packaged non-alcoholic beverage industry.

Key responsibilities

• Lead government affairs engagement strategy, focusing on Texas and other assigned state jurisdictions
• Monitor state and local legislative and regulatory developments, especially sustainability and health and well-being issues affecting the industry
• Provide insights, updates and potential business impact analysis of policy developments to internal stakeholders
• Work with internal stakeholders such as Corporate Responsibility, Investor Relations, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Operations and Supply Chain to define the company's position on pending policies
• Build relationships with policymakers, staff, industry peers and other external stakeholders
• Represent the company in state trade associations and coalitions
• Direct the activities of company lobbyists within the territory
• Coordinate communications with government officials on topics such as capital investment, corporate responsibility milestones, disaster relief and community investment

Required profile

• 5+ years of government affairs experience, including in-house corporate, trade association, lobbying firm and/or government experience
• Proven success working in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
• Experience collaborating with senior business partners on legislative and public policy matters with little to no supervision
• Experience managing multiple high-priority assignments at once
• Ability to travel domestically about 30% of the time
