Manager, Sponsored Programs (Remote)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a full‑time Manager, Sponsored Programs to lead the pre‑award side of sponsored research. Working remotely, you will increase funding levels, improve proposal quality, and ensure compliance with university and sponsor policies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the full pre‑award lifecycle for sponsored research proposals.
• Partner with faculty and researchers to develop competitive grant applications, including budgets and required documentation.
• Review proposals for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance before submission.
• Manage proposal submissions through electronic portals and ensure all internal and external deadlines are met.
• Maintain tracking systems for proposals, support departmental reporting, and facilitate transition to post‑award staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum five years of experience in sponsored research administration, especially pre‑award services.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and private funding mechanisms.
• Excellent organizational, communication and leadership abilities.
