About the role
The Department of Marketing Technology & Analytics at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Manager to own and evolve the information architecture across all digital properties. This hybrid position leads the migration to a new enterprise CMS, ensuring content is organized, searchable and user‑centric.
Key responsibilities
- Define and govern IA frameworks, including taxonomies, navigation, URL structures and labeling conventions.
- Lead content modeling and page‑type architecture within the enterprise CMS, establishing component hierarchies, template definitions and field‑naming standards.
- Oversee the IA migration workstream: legacy content inventory, URL mapping, redirect strategy and phased migration sequencing.
- Conduct IA research (card sorting, tree testing, first‑click testing, navigation usability studies) in partnership with UX and research teams.
- Govern metadata schemas, internal linking patterns and ensure compliance with SEO and AEO requirements.
- Maintain governance artifacts such as naming conventions, decision logs, sitemaps and redirect logs.
- Manage IA specialists and contractors, assigning work, reviewing deliverables and meeting migration timelines.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience designing and governing information architecture for large digital ecosystems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage external vendors.
- Strong understanding of university policies, compliance and internal controls.
Required skills
- Enterprise Content Management System (CMS) expertise.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) knowledge.
- Metadata schema design and URL mapping.
- Content modeling and taxonomy governance.
- Usability research methods: card sorting, tree testing, first‑click testing.
