Manager, Community Relations and Social Responsibility

About the role

Lead the development and execution of APM Terminals' community relations and social investment strategy in Elizabeth, NJ. You will work closely with senior leadership and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to drive sustainable community impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a long‑term Community Relations & Social Investment strategy aligned with business objectives and sustainability commitments.
• Build and manage relationships with local government, Port Authority, community leaders, nonprofit organizations, chambers of commerce and civic partners.
• Lead planning, governance and administration of charitable giving, grants, sponsorships and community investment programs.
• Monitor and evaluate program outcomes using KPIs, dashboards and reporting frameworks.
• Collaborate with Communications and Marketing to support community storytelling, social media engagement and reputation management.
• Coordinate employee volunteer programs and internal engagement campaigns.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Community Engagement, Marketing or related field.
• 5–10+ years of progressive experience in community relations, social investment, CSR, nonprofit leadership or government relations.
• Strong understanding of grant management, social investment governance and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, evaluate sponsorship opportunities and measure ROI.
• Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
