Manager, Central Sterile Processing (Full Time)

About the role

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Manager for Central Sterile Processing. This leader will oversee inventory, distribution, and compliance of sterile supplies across the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory and ensure efficient distribution of central supply items to all units.
• Develop and sustain clinical relationships with key leaders to support supply initiatives.
• Drive process improvement, system development, and coordination with customer departments.
• Manage departmental budget, achieve financial targets, and oversee quality‑assurance programs.
• Prevent outages of critical patient‑care items and ensure proper stocking, rotation, and cleaning of nursing unit carts.
• Establish and monitor internal controls, ensuring compliance with university policies.
• Train staff on controls, policies, and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
• CRCST certification (Certified Registered Central Service Technician).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in central sterile processing or related area.
• Strong knowledge of operational management, organizational development, financial oversight, and team leadership.
