Manager, Buyer III

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager, Buyer III to lead procurement activities at our Heredia office. This senior position oversees buyer and expeditor teams, ensuring reliable vendor relationships and efficient purchasing processes that support our advanced semiconductor and display technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the activities of buyers and expediters to meet company objectives.
• Evaluate vendor reliability and maintain strong working relationships.
• Review and approve purchases up to a specified dollar amount.
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures for procurement operations.
• Monitor cost, schedule, and performance of major sub‑contracts.
• Coordinate purchasing with engineering and manufacturing to keep inventories at planned levels.

Required profile

• Ability to analyze complex situations and data, reviewing relevant factors.
• Experience receiving assignments with clear objectives and recommending policy changes.
• Proven leadership in providing direction to employees and administering company policies.
• Strong judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate actions.
