Mammography Technologist Level 3

About the role

The University of Miami UHealth System is seeking a Level 3 Mammography Technologist to join the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. This senior technologist will perform complex mammography procedures, ensure high‑quality diagnostic images, and lead the imaging unit.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling and patient flow for inter‑departmental mammography procedures.
• Perform diagnostic imaging studies under radiologist supervision and supervise other technologists.
• Assist in education and training of new physicians, technologists, and staff.
• Develop and test new imaging protocols with radiologists and PhDs.
• Participate in research initiatives and help create research protocols.
• Monitor daily charging of procedures and supplies for accuracy.
• Demonstrate equipment during site visits and provide in‑service training.
• Verify orders, obtain consents, and ensure patient identification before each exam.
• Operate mammography scanners and related equipment following radiation safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience performing complex mammography examinations.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior technologists.
• Strong understanding of radiographic equipment and radiation safety standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to verify orders and patient information.
• Commitment to quality, research participation, and continuous improvement.
