Maintenance Technician – Paxson & Velo

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the physical aspects of its Paxson & Velo properties. The role ensures buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and making repairs in line with policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage, returning unused items, and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by picking up trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when possible and using materials and tools efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies and participate in routine safety meetings.
• Strong attention to detail for inspections, documentation, and inventory management.
• Capability to work independently, schedule vendors, and manage multiple maintenance tasks.

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
• Preventative maintenance procedures.
• Use of hand and power tools, including pressure‑washing equipment.
• Basic painting and surface preparation.
