Maintenance Technician – Melina (Sarasota)

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Melina community in Sarasota. The role focuses on ensuring that the building, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident‑generated work orders and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing them in line with safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage, return unused items and notify supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials efficiently.
• Adhere to Greystar’s safety policies and procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical or technical issues and perform repairs safely.
• Strong attention to detail for inspections, documentation and inventory management.
• Willingness to work a Monday‑Friday schedule with a rotating on‑call rotation.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe and well‑functioning property environment.
