Maintenance Technician

About the role

Walter USA, a division of Sandvik, is expanding its state‑of‑the‑art Solid Carbide Drills facility in Greer, SC. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep our modern, air‑conditioned production environment running smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of plant equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, and ventilation systems.
• Perform detailed preventative maintenance as defined by work orders.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with PLCs, vision systems, and complex control logic.
• Prepare requisitions for spare parts and maintenance supplies.
• Interpret drawings, layouts, manuals, and verbal instructions to execute repairs.
• Conduct millwright, pipe‑fitting, and plumbing work on high‑ and low‑pressure systems.
• Operate trucks, forklifts, man lifts, and other powered vehicles while maintaining proper documentation.
• Provide status updates to internal customers and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience as an electro‑mechanical technician.
• Associate’s degree in electronic technology (or equivalent).
• Current forklift certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work the 8 AM – 4:30 PM shift.
• Authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).

• Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, and ventilation system maintenance.
• Electrical and electronic system repair.
• Millwright and pipe‑fitting expertise.
• Forklift, truck, and man‑lift operation.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 compliance.
