Maintenance Technician

About the role

Join the TJX family as a Maintenance Technician supporting our distribution centers. You will ensure the reliability of material handling equipment, conveyors, and facility systems while upholding safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs on forklifts, conveyors, and other DC equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical failures.
• Safely operate warehouse machinery and obtain a PIT license within 90 days.
• Provide technical training to utility technicians.
• Maintain records, follow lock‑out/tag‑out and fall‑protection procedures, and keep work areas clean.
• Execute general upkeep tasks such as painting, plumbing, snow/ice removal, and facility repairs.
• Interact with automated handling control systems and monitor the Energy Management System (EMS).

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems, power equipment, and belting.
• Basic understanding of electrical, HVAC, water, and building systems.

Required skills

• Preventive maintenance and mechanical repair.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting (multimeter use, receptacle and switch replacement, lighting ballast).
• Reading blueprints and schematics.
• Forklift and powered industrial truck (PIT) operation.
• EMS (Energy Management System) familiarity.
• Conveyor and belting repair knowledge.
